book worm

I've never been much of a reader. In high school i skimmed and somehow was able to get enough of the point and did considerable well on most of my papers. In college I did (do?) pretty much the same. Even if it's something that i'm absolutely interested in or a classic, I've never been able to find pleasure in being "forced" to read a book. Over the past few years I've wanted to become the kind of person who can just "curl up with a good book". I want to be a reader because I know I'm missing out on a lot of good literature. I'm excited to write that I'm almost finished with my second book this summer, and people keep suggesting more and more to me. I'm hoping to read a total of 5 for the summer. I'm being totally realistic and not setting an unreachable goal. I know how I am, and it isn't uncommon for me to start a book and then never finish it. So far I've read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, and I'm almost done with Lucky a memoir by Sebold as well. She writes in such a way that I am able to relate to her descriptions and am eager to reach the resolution. I find myself being unable to put the book down and wanting to clear my day in order to finish. So, I'm happy to say that I'm pleasantly on my way towards my goal. I will keep you all posted on my progress (whether or not you care!) =)
